What is Early or Late?

Early or Late is an independent London-based clothing brand creating limited-edition oversized T-shirts featuring original artwork by independent artists. Each artwork is released as an edition of just 50 individually numbered pieces. Once an edition is gone, it is never reproduced.

Who are the artists?

We collaborate with independent artists whose work and stories resonate with us. Each artist and artwork is carefully selected by Early or Late, with the work translated onto the garment in close collaboration with the artist. You can discover more about each artist, their practice and their story on their artist page and in our Journal.

Question 3

Do artists receive a share of sales?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Artists receive a royalty for every piece featuring their work that is sold. We believe collaboration should recognise the artist not only creatively, but financially.

Question 4

Why only 50 pieces per edition?

Accepted Answer

Because we want each artwork to remain genuinely limited. Every piece is individually numbered from 1/50 to 50/50, creating a finite edition rather than an endlessly reproduced design. Once all 50 are gone, that edition is complete.

When will the first editions be available?

Our first editions are currently in development and will launch in Autumn 2026. Join our newsletter to hear about the release first and follow the process as the editions come to life.

How are the garments made?

Our oversized T-shirts are being developed and made in the UK, with a focus on fabric, fit and the reproduction of each artist's work. We are working with specialist UK makers and suppliers to develop the garments in small batches, with each artwork produced as an edition of only 50 pieces.

Question 7

Will sold-out editions ever come back?

Accepted Answer

No. Once all 50 pieces featuring an artwork have been sold, that edition is complete and will not be reproduced.
